I perform many tasks, but one of the easiest is upgrading someones blog from one version of WP to the next. Some people are not into the tech stuff at all, they just like to blog, or market. These people are our perfect customers. I charge 50 bucks to upgrade a WP blog. If you are thinking “Jay I’m glad that YOU know how to do that tech stuff, but I don’t!” it’s cool…

If you are thinking that 50 bucks is steep to perform such a simple task. You are right it is, however at the end of the day it comes down to how you position yourself and your service. In addition to paying merely for their blog to be upgraded, your client can rest easy knowing that the job will be done right the first time. They can also rest easy knowing that you aren’t going to break their site…
You can add on whatever extras you like. Personally I offer to upgrade their site again for free within the first 90 days. So if WP comes out with a new version a month latter, they don’t have to pay me again. I also provide my clients with a backup copy of their site. (You’d be amazed at how many people who’s entire businesses revolve around websites don’t have backups of their sites!) To wrap things up I will also install a plugin that will backup the site automatically in the future…
You can add whatever additional services you’d like to sweeten the deal…
Below you will find a quick video that shows you step by step how to upgrade a WP site. If you are new to this, once you get your first client come back here and watch this video while performing the upgrade if need be. Play and pause as needed. Before long you will be able to do this with your eyes closed! (I recommend keeping atleast one open though!
