Jay Wilson Jr.

I made a BIG boo boo! :(

by Jay Wilson Jr.

I deleated my database for this blog…

Over two years worth of quality content, gone with the click of a mouse button.

For me to say that I’m unhappy atm is a HUGE understatement! I’ll be a starting
from scratch. I have backups of everyone of my sites except this one which sits
in a different hosting account than the others….

needless to say from here out I will make regular backups of this site…

Look for a new theme and new posts over the coming days…

GRRR!!!

Jay

Hi Jay ,

Please try to find back some part of your previous post using the Way Back Machine, follow the link below, but can’t guarantee you can get back all, but at least grab some of your previous post..

You can probably find much of your data in an archive. Try

http://www.archive.org/index.php

Just put you url in the way back machine in the middle. You should find everything apart form the last 6 months.

Man, didn’t you ever backup your databases? What can I do to help?

Good luck man.

Oh man, that really sucks. Too bad you haven’t been following me earlier, I’ve been harping on everyone to make backups.

You might also want to keep in mind the URL used to access the pages you recover as well. Don’t need to compound things with a google slap as well, not to mention all those dead links now. Truly a bummer.

I need a marketing genius right about now, so I’m looking forward to anything you might have to share. I’m out in Southern California, the concrete jungle as it were. I’m a web and app developer with a focus on C# and providing web sites to those that need one at an affordable rate, with quality results.

Great to meet you and I’m looking forward to sharing with you. Cheers!

Hi Jay I am sorry you lost your site. But, your asking for help has helped me. I have not backed up my site and am going to correct that immediately.

I hope you are able to recover your site with the information you received from other followers.

Seems I have computer trouble just about too often. I do back up frequently now. I first learned this lesson in college. I was taking a final exam in Autocad. The computer froze up and crashed half way through my work. I lost it all and had to start over. Not good. Back up as often as possible.

Well Jay, that does suck…hitting the mouse there musta been kinda like that last second when someone pulls the trigger.

Good thing your name is Marketing Genius and not blogging genius:).

Sorry dude, I just couldn’t help it…

Good luck getting it back up,

Jim
